I picked this book up largely because of the positive experience I had with “Grasping the Root of Divine Culture” about a year ago. While I didn’t really think I needed assistance with relationships, I assumed it could be an interesting read. I was pleasantly surprised with this book and learned a lot that has helped me with my personal relationships since. The format of the book which is one part narrative and one part instructional is a refreshing approach to the subject. The stories do not allow for easy answers or solutions and I think this makes the text feel more real and useful. I became such a fan of the book that as soon as I finished it I gave it to a female friend of mine for her to read it as well. A good read and highly recommended.

My Baba and I were listening to a Foundational Friday blogtalk show. Chief was breaking some stuff down and also mentioned this book with a short description of the subject matter. My Baba who is a serious Elder, was listening keenly, and stated that Chief was an intelligent young man and instructed me to buy this book. This book gives an excellent insight, oversight and advice into relationships wherein both parties have key and significant differences e.g. race or belief system, and the potential impact on the family unit based on whether such differences are acknowledged, respected and worked through as appropriate. the most substantial thing I can offer is that my Baba references this book when counselling younger couples and families.
